I have been studying pools all winter. It's a weird thing I obsess over. I am constantly rubbernecking to see people's pools in their back yards. To me, a pool in a thing of exquisite beauty. Something that is a perfect luxury, and a pretty awesome example of the American Dream. Pool ownership has been a lifelong dream of mine. Some of my best childhood memories are of swimming away a summer afternoon in a neighbor kid's backyard. Awesome.
So now, at the middle of my lfe, I still have this nagging desire to put this perfect, long-imagined thing in my own back yard. It's a long winter in western New York, so there has been plenty of time to plan and learn. I've read every book in the library about swimming pools. I feel like I could build one by myself. I know that I can't. I said, "feel like".
So the thing is, there are four in our family, and each person has thir idea of what kind of pool we should get. All things considered, I'm thinking Radiant Metric Round is the way to go. It's got an Energy Star rating, and is the only pool on the market that comes with a 100% lifetime guarantee that's tranferable to each new owner as many times as you may sell your home. On the other hand, the above ground application makes it completely possible to take it with you if you move.
Radiant Pools has a website, http://www.radiantpools.com, and you can see for yourself how cool these are. Brace yourself for the cost, though. They cost a little more than the super high-end above ground packages that have the usual 30 year pro-rated warranty. But keep in mind the long term energy savings and the extended season use from the wall insulation.
I'll keep you posted on how all this goes, and if I find a dealer close to my area. Right now my biggest obstacle is the building codes for the town I live in...lots and lots of details that aren't going to be all that easy to deal with. I'm hoping that soon I'll be writing a review from an actual user's point of view. I'll keep you posted! Peace, Lin   http://www.lanrocks.biz
