Asking Largely Enough |

Do you ever wonder why it sometimes seems that all the great stuff happens to other people? Do you feel like everyone else gets huge opportunities, while you just keep plugging along at the daily grind? There's a reason that you feel that way. And I can help you fix it. You simply have not asked largely enough of yourself. And you have not asked largely enough FOR yourself. When you set a goal, you might be extremely cautious so that you don't face a possible disappointment. It's easier to ask a little less of yourself, and this gives you a false sense of accomplishment when you do a task that just really wasn't all that much of a reach for you. Do you recall thinking, "My neighbor always gets awesome deals on new cars. I always seem to be paying more. I guess everything just works out better for some people..." Or..."They always go on awesome trips...Must be nice to live the way they do. I wish we could do that. I just don't ever get a chance to go anywhere..." Ever feel like everyone around you is moving at a faster speed and getting better results in their job situations? We all have some way we feel a bit passed over, less than adequate, cheated or ignored. The list is huge. Now for the reason... We haven't asked largely enough. Simply ask for more. And ask for it with confidence. If you want a better deal on a car, ask for it. If you want to go on a trip, plan it. Tell your co-workers you are doing it. Make it happen, and don't waver. Want to start your own business? Get going. You don't have to wait for that "chance to go back to school first", or for the "right time" to get started. It's never the right time. You have to MAKE it the right time. Six months ago I quit my job to begin in my own business. I have not looked back with regret. Every day I realize with faith and intention that I am an artist and I will do the work of an artist. I will take each individual task of the day and devote it to getting to my ultimate goal. Yesterday I got up and realized that I would love to see my art sold at a nationally known museum. So I contacted them. And 13 more, besides. I'm excited and energized that I have a chance to meet that goal. They weren't going to come and ring my doorbell anytime soon. I wasn't asking largely enough until yesterday. They could say no, but that won't stop me. There are hundreds of such museums, and I will get this done. I used to think that those opportunities were just for other people. That I had to wait to become good enough. That's just foolish, and we all do it. We've taught ourselves since we were very small to be safe. Don't take risks. Be careful not to get disappointed. Try stepping out of your comfort zone. Ask largely. A seeming failure is just a stepping stone to the next level of opportunity. Take it and be glad. You are as awesome as you imagine. You can share it with the world. Once you get over being your old cautious self, it gets much easier. Now start asking largely. It will not fail you. Peace, Lin http://www.lanrocks.biz |
