It's the time of the year when we all start searching for the perfect gifts for our family and friends. I hope you don't fall into the same gift giving routine that I am prone to...you see, even though I am a creative artist, I can't help falling into the dreaded Christmas Present Rut. Chocolates for the mail carrier. Stationery for the dance teacher. Ornaments for the school teachers. Gift cards for the relatives.

Believe me, I am a huge fan of gift cards, and I love to get them as presents. But if you want something you can wrap, and be pretty sure they don't have it already, you could give them an acrylic painting on stone from my cool online store.(Yes, I am shamelessly plugging because I really believe in my products, and they do make great gifts!)

I have a friend who gave one as a gift a couple years ago. It was a huge one. And she had the painted flower rock wrapped in a box under her tree. It ws there for a couple weeks leading up to Christmas, and a lot of guests and family members were trying to guess what was inside the box. It was one of the heaviest presents they have ever encountered!

Oh, I know what you're thinking. If I give a painted rock as a gift, and I have to ship it to someone, it's going to cost a small fortune in postage.

Nope! Lets say you purchase an acrylic painting, ummmm...Simpsons art on a rock. It costs $18. You don't pay the shipping...I do! And when you receive it in the mail and see how cool it is, you'll want to send it to that special someone right away. Here's what you do. You gift wrap it, and take it to your post office. They have these great priority mail boxes. (Bring your shipping tape and yopur sharpie with you, and you won't have to make 2 trips)(Guess how I learned that...) Whatever fits in that box ships for one flat rate of $8.95. I think that's a really great deal for something that weighs a couple pounds. And the great thing on top of that is it will most likely arrive in 2 days. Not bad! The first time I shipped one that was heavy, it came to almost $16! Then I learned about this little gem of postal info. I'm glad I did, and now I get to share it with you fine people.

So when you think about it, for under $30 , you sent a cool, one of a kind art gift to someone, and it won't get thrown on the sweater pile or in the junk drawer. They'll want to show it off to all their friends because they now have a gift that no one else thought of!

Happy Christmas shopping to all of you out there. I hope you find a moment to stop by my online store, at www.lanrocks.biz.  There's a lot offered there, and it might be just what you're looking for! Rock on!
